Position: Wellbeing Mentor
Location: Newton Abbot
Contract: 4 or 5 days per week, term time only
Salary: £90 - £95 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Long-Term Teachers have an exciting opportunity to work at one of our fantastic schools, based in Newton Abbot, as a wellbeing mentor. Our school is seeking someone to work 4 or 5 days a week on a temp-to-perm basis, eventually materialising into a permanent contract with the school directly. You will be working 08:30 - 16:30, Monday to Friday.

- Supports students aged 5 - 16 who have experienced trauma

About the role:
- Working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Provide essential support to students and the class teacher during lessons, ensuring the students remain engaged
- Support students with their social and emotional development, as well as their academic progress
- Nurture and inspire students both inside and outside the classroom
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to get one
- Be confident working within small groups and 1:1
- Relevant experience working with children (or adults) with special educational needs
- A passion for working with children and young people in SEN settings
- Have a full UK driving licence and have your own vehicle
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has experience working within a SEN setting and has a passion to develop this further. This role would also be perfect for someone with a healthcare/support worker/sports coach background.
There will be opportunities to progress onto a permanent position should you prove to be an excellent addition to the team.
