SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant required for a Hornchurch School to work 1-1 in the classroom with a Yr 2 pupil showing signs of Challenging Behaviour, the pupil has no learning needs academically and is currently being assessed.

Ideally the right candidate will need to be experienced, active, fun but firm and not easily phased.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work a split day supporting the Year 2 pupil in the morning and wherever needed in the school for the afternoon.

To start - 3rd September 2024

Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm (Term time only with additional holiday pay)

SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Do you have experience of working with pupils showing signs of Physical and Challenging Behaviour and to have an understanding of their learning pathways?
  • Are you able to effectively manage the pupils behaviour, social interaction with an understanding of triggers and traits?
  • Are you able to actively promote and assist safe learning?
  • Could you ensure the pupil can thrive and fully develop their social, cognitive and emotional skills?
  • Are you happy to assist with personal care if needed?

Qualifications for the role:

  • Qualified with a relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification and/or SEND care qualifications.
  • Experience working 1-1 in a classroom with Challenging Behaviour.
  • Team Teach trained would be beneficial but not essential.
