Planning Solicitor 0-6PQE: Exeter £60-80,000 DOE.

Our client, a City-led, international and national law firm, is currently seeking a Planning Solicitor to join their Planning and Environment team in Exeter. With over 170 partners and 1000 staff, our client has offices across the UK, Middle East, and Far East, providing a global reach for their clients.

As a Planning Solicitor, you will be joining a cohesive national team, working on a variety of both contentious and non-contentious matters. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on:

  • High-profile cases,
  • Advising clients in areas such as complex planning applications,
  • Section 106 and 278 agreements,
  • Providing general planning advice for major development schemes.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for providing planning and environmental due diligence on commercial and corporate transactions,
  • Advising on contaminated land and remediation liability,
  • and offering guidance on matters related to invasive species and protected species.

You may also be involved in:

  • Enforcement issues,
  • High Court litigation,
  • Public inquiry work,
  • Judicial review.

Some of the team's high profile and significant matters that have been watched closely by the sector include:

  • Advising Leicestershire County Council on the CPO and SRO for the A511 Growth Corridor Scheme.
  • Advising on the planning and compulsory purchase aspects of the Langarth Garden Village Urban extension in Truro, Cornwall.
  • Acting for the Developers of the Broadwalk Shopping Centre Development in Bristol which will deliver 820 new homes.
  • Advising British Telecommunications PLC on the planning aspects of the roll out of new soft cell technology within the public realm.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong client focus, commercial awareness, and the ability to work effectively as a team player. Drive, enthusiasm, and a commitment to service delivery are also essential.
