The Service Desk Technician will provide crucial support to the technology department in a financial services setting, ensuring efficient operation and contributing to the successful delivery of IT solutions. This role will be a mixture of 1st/2nd line support.

The employer is a respected entity in the financial services sector. With a workforce of over 800 people, it holds a prominent position in the market and is renowned for its commitment to quality and its customer-centric approach. Their office in Northwich is an integral part of their operations.

The Service Desk Technician with be a part of a small team which feeds into a larger IT function.

Description

  • Provide internal technical support to colleagues across the office.
  • Assist in the delivery of IT solutions (e.g. diagnosing, problem-solving and providing support to users)
  • Ensure operational efficiency within the department
  • Work collaboratively with team members
  • Adhere to and implement company IT policies
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support to internal issues
  • Escalating tickets to a 3rd party supplier
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical staff
  • Keep abreast of the latest technology trends in the financial services sector

Profile

A successful Service Desk Technician should have:

  • Relevant academic qualifications are desired but, not essential (e.g. ITILv4/CompTIA A+)
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills with a passion and attitude to learn
  • Excellent communication abilities/ customer service skills
  • A passion and interest in technology
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Will live in a commutable distance to Northwich.

Essential: Proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems and standard Office applications.

Technical Stack: Active Directory, Exchange, Windows (operating systems), Networks, CRM, Document Management systems etc. - some of the applications in house are bespoke and full training will be provided.

Job Offer

This is a full-time hybrid opportunity with 3 days spent in office and 2 days from home.
