The Commercial Finance and Pricing Team has a new opportunity for an experienced Reporting Lead to join them on a fixed term basis.
As the Reporting Lead you will work closely with the Elite3E Project Manager and Head of Commercial Finance and Pricing to facilitate the global firm's implementation of Elite 3E. Your responsibilities will include engaging with stakeholders of all seniorities across The Firm globally to identify reporting requirements, gaining a deep understanding of our reporting vision and ensuring that reporting solutions delivered at go-live meet the minimum needs of the firm. You will need to consider where are now, where we need to be and how we will get there. The role will work independently, and you will be responsible for organising your workload as well as co-ordinating others to deliver in line with the overall plan.
This is an 18-month FTC position, based out of our Bristol or London office with travel to our other offices as needed.
What you'll do
As a Reporting Lead, you will be a key figure in driving the development and implementation of the finance reporting strategy across the global firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Business consultation
- Lead the consultation to gather reporting requirements from partners, fee earners, business support professionals, making recommendations and ensuring that decisions are made in a timely manner.
- Agree applicable deliverables with the Elite 3E Project Manager and provide regular progress updates, ensuring deadlines are met. Furthermore, you will be expected to flag risks/issues and for them to be resolved promptly.
Reporting development
- Work closely with the Power BI developer to design and develop business dashboards and reporting tools.
- Work with SMLs and other functional experts to ensure changes to reporting tools are understood and impact considered.
- Test the stock and develop custom solutions to ensure that the business requirements are being met.
- Input into and co-ordinate the setups/configuration decisions of the functional solutions related to your reporting expertise.
- Coordinate and participate in Use Acceptance Testing including the validation of converted data.
- Apply professional expertise in developing financial metrics and tools to support financial reporting, profitability growth, pricing strategies, and innovation.
- Policy and process development and documentation
- Lead on the implementation and documentation of global firm processes and taxonomies to support the provision of accurate and timely reporting data.
- Support with the development of international policies in order to drive reporting standardisation.
- Support the training and change functions on the rollout of your workstream to the business.
- Automate and streamline existing financial reporting processes, ensuring adaptability to stakeholder needs.
What we are looking for
You will need at least 3 years' experience, with a proven track record, working as a Reporting lead, or similar role. You will ideally be qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with Elite 3E experience and come from a legal or professional services background, however, none of the above is a prerequisite.
You'll also need to demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience in a complex business environment, with a strong grasp of business strategy and commercial awareness.
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
- The ability to explain complex ideas in layman terms write insightful financial and commercial commentaries based upon sound financial management.
- Proven ability to build and develop strong relationships within the business, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance people.
- Confidence to influence and challenge business decisions where appropriate.
- Advanced knowledge of how a reporting strategy is developed and in collaboration with key stakeholders is implemented.
