This is a full time, permanent position. The working hours are 34 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 09.00 - 5.00 pm and Friday 09.00 - 3.00 pm.

As this role will require you to be travelling to meet clients regularly, we can be flexible on location. However, you will need to be happy to go to the Bristol office a couple of time a month, and initially you will need to be Bristol based regularly.

There will also be some international travel, so flexibility towards this is required.

The salary on offer is circa up to £65,000 per annum (depending on experience), holidays are 28 days plus Bank Holidays (3 days to be reserved for the Christmas period). A statutory pension is on offer. Benefits include, free onsite parking, cycle to work scheme, tech and home scheme, car allowance.

Role Overview:

As the Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Your primary focus will be on selling packaging solutions to a range of clients across various sectors.

This role is heavily focused on new client acquisition, following the sales process, and onboarding clients before handing them over to the Client Support Team. It is a sales development role rather than account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the diverse products and services to effectively advise and engage clients.
  • Grow sales of glass packaging, closures, and lids, including creative decoration and labelling services, along with complementary products from other divisions within the company.
  • Identify key decision-makers and crucial buying criteria within target client organisations.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential customers, nurturing them into valued clients.
  • Proficiently address customer needs and devise effective strategies to fulfil them.
  • Identify new opportunities through networking and market intelligence.

Requirements:

  • Proven success in business development roles, particularly in securing long-term contracts with complex organisations.
  • Experience in developing sustainable solutions aligned with environmental considerations.
  • Proficiency in selling glass packaging, preferably in the health, beauty, cosmetic, and candle glass sectors is preferred, otherwise a genuine interest in this area.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including possible overnight stays and overseas travel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and tech (MS Office) skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment with a results-oriented, self-motivated mindset.
  • A growth-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering excellence.
