Our client is a small but passionate charity offering affordable services to the Somerset community. They are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Part-time Bookkeeper to manage the financial operations. The ideal candidate will have experience using Sage 50 and a passion for working with non-profit organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create new client records and maintain session payment information.
- Maintain accurate financial records using Sage accounting software.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile payments, donations, grants, and other income streams.
- Manage finance email inbox and liaise with Counsellors and Clients as required for credits or record adjustments.
- Chase late payments and manage the organisations debt management process.
- Prepare source data from the Client Management System through data reports in Excel (strong Excel skills required).
- Assist with payroll processing and expense management.
- Ensure compliance with charity-specific accounting regulations.
- Work closely with the charitys external Accountants and internal leadership team to support budgeting and financial planning.
- Facilitate upgrades or migration to new accounting software.
Part-time Bookkeeper:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper (3 years), ideally within a non-profit or Charity.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage 50 (1 year), Sage One & Xero.
- Strong IT skills - Excel skills essential.
- Strong understanding of charity financial regulations and reporting requirements would be beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work within a team and independently and manage time effectively.
Part-time Bookkeeper; Monday - Friday, approximately 15 hours per week, Office Based, in Taunton.
Salary: c. GBP14 per hour, depending on experience.
