Testing & Inspection Electrician
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing, inspection, and certification of installations in compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations).
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, including distribution boards, wiring, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, ensuring timely and effective repairs. • Carry out periodic inspection and testing of existing installations to ensure ongoing compliance and safety.
- Prepare detailed reports, including electrical installation condition reports (EICRs), highlighting any defects or non-compliances.
- Verify the integrity and safety of new electrical installations before energising.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and project teams to ensure the smooth completion of projects.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety standards, following company policies and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including test results and inspection reports.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and colleagues as needed.
Qualifications & Skills: Essential:
- Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
- EUSR SHEA Power card or CSCS Equivalent
- Extensive experience in electrical testing and inspection.
- Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and standards.
- Ability to interpret and understand electrical diagrams and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience with a variety of testing equipment and tools.
- Familiarity with both commercial and residential electrical systems.
- Certification in health and safety practices (e.g., ECS card).
- Experience within the power distribution sector advantageous
