Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Sciences Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching across a range of social science subjects, including Sociology, Psychology, and Citizenship, to students at Key Stage 3-4. You will inspire and challenge students while ensuring that they achieve their full potential. This role requires creativity, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Social Sciences subjects, including Sociology, Psychology, and Citizenship.
- Foster a positive and stimulating learning environment that supports student engagement and academic achievement.
- Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement schemes of work that reflect current curriculum requirements.
- Participate in department meetings, school events, and continuous professional development (CPD).
- Support students' personal and academic development through mentoring and pastoral care.
- Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and independent learning in line with the school's ethos.
- Ensure lessons are inclusive, differentiated, and accessible for students with diverse learning needs.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Experience teaching Social Sciences subjects at KS3, KS4 (desirable).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team.
