Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Thetford
Salary: £30-40k
Hours: 8.30am - 5pm on site 37.5 hours a week
Our client is the market leader of the automotive body building sector and supply a full range of recovery vehicles worldwide.
The Role:
As a Mechanical |Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the New Product Development projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, analysing problems, and providing innovative solutions throughout the design, development, prototyping, qualification, and launch phases.
Responsibilities:
- Complete project documentation to support the stage gate development process.
- Generate CAD models and drawings across various project stages.
- Develop detailed test plans and collaborate with the development team to evaluate and enhance designs.
- Support the production introduction of new product offerings.
- Provide technical expertise in the development of new products.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will hold a degree in a relevant engineering discipline. While previous professional experience is desirable, we welcome applications from candidates at the early stages of their careers
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in 3D design software
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical ideas effectively.
- A good mechanical design background ideally in the automotive sector.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with FEA simulation packages for product analysis.
