Industrial Disease Solicitor

A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Industrial Disease Solicitor to join their Blackburn office. This role offers a unique opportunity to handle a diverse and complex caseload, particularly focusing on military claims against the Ministry of Defence and industrial disease claims.

The successful candidate will take individual responsibility for managing a caseload of both pre-litigated and litigated military claims, as well as industrial disease claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex and high-value caseload of military claims against the Ministry of Defence, including Noise Induced Hearing Loss and other short and long tail industrial disease claims.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, from initial client contact through to settlement or trial.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and expert reports.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, experts, and other third parties to progress cases effectively.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records using the Proclaim case management system.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development and success of the department.

Requirements:

  • Approximately 4-5 years PQE in personal injury litigation, with a specific focus on military claims and industrial disease.
  • Strong knowledge of military claims and industrial disease claims processes and legislation.
  • Proficiency in using the Proclaim case management system is advantageous.
  • Excellent litigation and advocacy skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently and effectively.
