Akton are recruiting on behalf of a client who are seeking a skilled and experienced Panel Wireman with expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS) to join their growing workshop team at the Hemel Hempstead office.
Responsibilities
Panel Assembly and Wiring
- Assemble electrical control panels according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Wire control panels meticulously, ensuring accurate connections and adherence to safety standards.
- Install components such as relays, switches, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks as required.
Building Management System Integration:
- Integrate control panels with Building Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring and control of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, and security.
- Configure BMS controllers and devices to communicate effectively with the control panels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any communication or integration issues between control panels and the BMS.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough testing of control panels to ensure functionality and adherence to specifications.
- Perform quality checks on completed panels to verify compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Document test results and provide detailed reports to engineering and project management teams.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members to provide updates on panel assembly progress and any potential issues encountered.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute insights to optimize panel design for efficiency and performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Panel Wireman, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components, with the ability to interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and their integration with control panels.
- Proficiency in wiring techniques, cable routing, and termination methods.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose issues effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to always adhere to safety protocols and standards.
- Relevant certifications or vocational training in electrical engineering or a related field.
