HGV Workshop Controller

- Basic Salary: Up to £43,000
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
Workshop Controller required for Successful Automotive commercial vehicle maintenance unit in the Plymouth area.
Our Client is seeking a Workshop Controller to join their busy service department and it is essential that you have a previous working experience within a busy Automotive Workshop.
Hours of work for this Workshop Controller role are Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
The Salary being offered to the successful Workshop Controller is up to £43,000.
Duties of a Workshop Controller:
- Plan, control, and deliver overall workshop performance.
- Act as the interface between the workshop and the customer, enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Manage, lead, and organise the workshop team and resources.
- Identify training needs for the workshop team in coordination with the line manager.
- Ensure all company and manufacturer processes, standards, and legal obligations are met.
- Participate in meetings to review pre-planned work, ensuring consistent workloads.
The Successful HGV Workshop Controller will Have:
- A working technical understanding of vehicles in order to clearly explain repairs/additional repairs to customers
- Customer service skills, including dealing with difficult situations and an ability to up-sell our services and products where appropriate
- Strong IT skills
- Awareness of warranty guidelines, service intervals, etc
- Be organised, efficient and able to multi-task efficiently
- Be flexible, energised and a team player
- Previous experience in a similar role
