I am representing a client who is seeking a dedicated accounts assistant to join their team. This role involves maintaining accurate records for both the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger, reconciling daily cash, placing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with company policies. You will also work closely with the Warehouse team to keep precise inventory records and assist in the smooth operation of the accounts department.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Sales Ledger Management:

  • Enter daily cash from multiple bank accounts and reconcile daily.

  • Process daily sales invoices accurately and timely, coordinating with the dispatch team to reconcile discrepancies

  • Purchase Ledger & Stock Control:

  • Process Purchase Ledger invoices, ensuring accuracy, matching delivery notes, and adherence to company terms.

  • Reconcile all supplier statements monthly and correct any discrepancies in line with company policy.

  • Handle monthly payment runs for Purchase Ledger invoices in both domestic and foreign currencies.

  • Manage company expenses through Pleo, ensuring accurate posting to the accounts system.

  • Account for and reconcile petty cash transactions monthly.

  • Raise monthly Purchase requests post-stock count of Finished Goods and Raw Stock components.

  • Maintain and update supplier prices and costings, notifying the Accounts Manager of changes to ensure margins are maintained.

  • Produce and distribute monthly expense reports across various teams.

  • Accounts Team Collaboration:

  • Maintain excellent communication with Customer Service and Warehouse departments to ensure high levels of customer service.

  • Assist the Accounts Manager and CFO with various tasks to ensure efficient operation of the accounts department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing Sales and Purchase Ledgers.
  • Strong ability to reconcile financial data and handle multiple bank accounts.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Vigilance in protecting the company from fraudulent activities.
