Associate Director

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a large multi-disciplinary consultancy on the hire of an Associate Director. The successful candidate will be based in Nottingham but will also work flexibly with colleagues at other offices and on projects right across the country.

As an Associate Director you will work semi-autonomously, under the supervision of Directors. You will lead on projects and engage in both development management and development plan / policy work. This will include, but is not limited to, managing planning applications of all scales, planning appeals, Local Plan representations, site promotion, Local Plan Examination and public inquiry work.

With excellent stakeholder management skills, you will also be offered a high degree of client interface and the opportunity to attend networking events in order to grow your personal contacts and promote the company. You should be self-motivated and will be excited by the prospect of developing your own client base and making a real contribution to the growth of the business.

You will also be expected to assist Directors with the day-to-day management of the office and supervise junior members of the planning team.

Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Town Planner ideally with substantial professional experience preferably in private sector consultancy or a mixture with public sector and client-side roles. Candidates should have a postgraduate qualification in Planning and be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
