Join Our Growing Team in Somerset!

Our focus? Designing and manufacturing fertilizers and related products for the amenity turf market (think golf courses, football pitches, and lush lawns) as well as the horticultural sector.

Background in Farming, agriculture, quarrying or Building would be helpful

The Role:

As our Quality Control Inspector, you'll play a vital role in maintaining product excellence. Reporting to the Compliance Officer (and closely collaborating with the Production Manager), you'll monitor, measure, assess, record, and report on factory raw materials and manufacturing outcomes.

Your mission? Ensure that everything meets the required standards or, when issues arise, provide insights that lead to effective solutions.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Proven QC Experience: You've got a track record in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Industry Exposure: While not essential, familiarity with agriculture, aggregate, or building products manufacturing is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: You're meticulous and accurate in measurements, record-keeping, and interpretation.
  • Effective Communication: Good interpersonal skills are key-you'll interact with colleagues at all levels.
  • Hands-On Approach: You thrive in a typical factory setting, getting your hands dirty (figuratively, of course).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collect samples during goods receipt, storage, and production, following established routines and conducting ad hoc investigations.
  • Analyze samples against quality standards, including sieve tests, moisture measurements, and visual assessments.
  • Educate staff on quality aspects and help modify behaviours.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to understand supplier performance and material variations.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to monitor factory processes and variations.
  • Support the Sales Department in meeting customer expectations.

The Ideal Person:

  • You're a routine champion, hitting targets and deadlines consistently.
  • Collaboration is your middle name-you work seamlessly with colleagues from all functions.
  • Open-minded and receptive, you welcome suggestions from others.
  • You stay up-to-date with internal standards and business goals.
  • Engaging within a team, you contribute ideas and support.

Benefits:
