Export Shipping Coordinator - Join a Dynamic Team in Surrey!

Are you an experienced Export Coordinator seeking a new opportunity with a leading global relocation firm? Our client, a key player in the UK's relocation industry, is expanding their team and looking for an enthusiastic Export Coordinator/Shipping Coordinator to join their close-knit and dynamic group of four professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promptly arrange quotes for local offices on international moves from the UK to overseas destinations.
  • Add shipment information to the company's bespoke operational database.
  • Calculate and/or check sea freight and delivery charges.
  • Verify operational details with the local office (Member) and/or receiving agent (destination company in the country of arrival) as necessary.
  • Liaise with the local office (Member) to ensure all necessary customs, contact, insurance, and contract details are correct.
  • Ensure all documents are received by the receiving agent in time for customs clearance/bonding container in accordance with ISO and FAIM manuals.
  • Arrange deliveries with agents and send all necessary paperwork.
  • Communicate all relevant details to both overseas agents and members.
  • Update the computer system and files to ensure all relevant information is correct.
  • Create sales invoices and approve purchase invoices for payment as necessary.
  • Coordinate with the accounts department to ensure payments to suppliers (e.g., sea freight companies) are made.
  • Monitor and update any changes to customs procedures as necessary.
  • Track changes to freight rates and exchange rates, updating accordingly, and inform the local office of any impact on customer pricing.
  • Ensure the system is always up to date with the latest developments, such as changes to price, transit time, and companies involved.

Position Requirements:

  • 2 years' experience (or more) in a similar role within a busy exports/shipping department.
  • Knowledge of database systems and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience working within a dynamic, service-driven team delivering against targets.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for good customer service and satisfaction.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to swiftly and accurately produce quotations and maintain good administrative skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with international agents.
  • Outgoing and friendly, with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Commutable distance to Redhill, Surrey.

Position Remuneration:

  • Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Working hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00
  • 28 days holiday, including bank holidays
  • Christmas shut-down period

  • Parking is provided, but for those using public transport, Merstham station is a short ten-minute walk away with local bus routes also accessible.
