Job Title: Sales Associate - Luxury Bookstore

Location: Mayfair, London

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: 37.5 hours (over 5 days - to work alternate Saturdays)

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum (DOE)

Our client, a world-leading rare book dealership based in West London, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Associate to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining impeccable presentation in the Mayfair shop and gallery, and working alongside their rare book specialists.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling sales inquiries and correspondence from various channels
  • Assisting in-store customers, providing exceptional service and knowledgeable advice
  • Representing the organisation at trade fairs, with occasional overseas travel
  • Supporting shop logistics and maintaining the store's appearance
  • Taking care of day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations
  • Assisting with personalised requests and offering tailored recommendations
  • Collaborating with the rest of the team to ensure smooth daily operations

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Comfortable and confident speaking with a wide range of clients
  • Resourceful and able to solve problems quickly under pressure
  • Experience in luxury retail with a strong focus on exceptional service
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Experience in working collaboratively within a team
  • Strong literary interests
