A high-growth fintech in West London is looking for a proactive, Qualified Finance Manager to join their team on an interim-to-perm basis. This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant who will take full ownership of the month-end process, mentor the team, and champion best practices as the company navigates a transformational phase. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the finance team, driving efficiencies and ensuring excellence in financial processes. Candidates from practice backgrounds are welcome, provided they bring end-to-end accounting experience or post practice expereince.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, delivering accurate and timely financial statements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis to provide actionable insights to management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support budget creation and forecasting, collaborating across departments.
- Reconciliations: Ensure accuracy through meticulous balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor junior finance team members, providing guidance and fostering a culture of best practice.
- Championing Best Practice: Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance controls.
- Audit Coordination: Facilitate audit processes, liaising with reporting team and providing necessary documentation.
- Compliance and Internal Controls: Maintain and improve internal controls and ensure compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in financial services or fintech is desirable but not essential.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with proven experience in month-end close and financial reporting.

- Analytical: Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail in financial data.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to engage with stakeholders across departments.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Sun, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
The opportunity will start on a day rate and convert to a permanent position in 2025.
