We are delighted to represent this high tech business based in Norwich who are seeking a Finance Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and maintaining effective financial controls.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Prepare forecasts for revenue, expenditure, and cash flow to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Set, review, and control budgets to manage costs effectively.
  • Conduct client profitability analysis to support pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare supporting calculations for R&D claims to maximise tax benefits.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance the financial health of the company.

Accounting and Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for internal review and decision-making.
  • Present financial information to the board and other stakeholders to inform and support strategic decisions.
  • Post monthly journals to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Oversee the preparation of the company's financial accounts to ensure accuracy and timely presentation.

Accounts Management:

  • Manage accounts receivable, including regular follow-ups and collection of outstanding debts.
  • Oversee accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of daily payments.
  • Handle payroll management, including monthly reconciliations, updates, and assisting with the calculation and communication of the incentive scheme.
  • Administer expenses by reviewing coding and VAT rates, and posting transactions from our expense management software (Dext) to the accounting software (Xero).
  • Raise sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Reconciliation

  • Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions.
  • Reconcile credit card statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile client media spend, including retrieving and verifying media spend invoices.
  • Identify and chase missing purchase invoices to maintain accurate financial records.

Compliance

  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Monitor and ensure timely payment of tax liabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including data protection laws.

Cash and Credit Management:

  • Manage cash and credit card balances to ensure sufficient liquidity.

Contract Management:

  • Create and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) to ensure clear terms and conditions.
  • Monitor upcoming renewals and support client success team in growing their accounts.

Systems and Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

As a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) your role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the company and supporting its growth and profitability.
