Electrical Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly competent Electrical Maintenance Engineer with an HNC qualification or equivalent experience to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site maintenance of site services and production machinery, demonstrating expertise in fault finding on complex electrical systems, including various PLC system hardware. This role involves leading project work focused on process development, energy saving, and advancing HSE through progressive technology.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Conduct maintenance of emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, and sprinkler systems, ensuring all safety standards are met.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics, symbols, and design works, including Basic PLC ladder logic.
  • Create schematics for project purposes and machine upgrades.
  • Perform maintenance on site machinery, including autonomous cells, with the ability to strip down, rebuild, inspect, clean, repair, and fault find on required components.
  • Fault find on complex PLC systems, BUS systems, digital/analogue inputs and outputs, drive systems, controllers, inverters, high frequency welding, ultraviolet curing systems, and temperature regulating control systems.
  • Plan, design, and implement project work in collaboration with other site teams, focusing on production line process development.
  • Work with third-party contractors to evolve outdated equipment and develop continuous manufacturing process improvements.
  • Engage in quality control efforts with production and quality teams to address customer complaints through engineering solutions.
  • Manage and update portable appliance testing logs and perform electrical installations as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or relative experience.
  • Competent keyboard skills and proficiency in Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Positive attitude with a structured and organised approach to work.
  • Excellent time management and flexibility.
  • Team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly numerate and literate with self-motivation.
  • Accurate with excellent attention to detail.
