Assistant Buyer

A great opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Buyer to join a dynamic and growing arm of a nationally recognised business.

This company specialising in supplying a wide range of products to both B2B and B2C customers.

They are now looking for someone with previous buying/purchasing support experience to work alongside a buyer and support with their day to day duties.

This position is based out of their distribution centre in Birmingham on the outskirts of city centre with parking available.

What's on offer?

Salary = Circa £30,000 per annum

23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

Duties include:

  • Support and maintain excellent relationships with all new and existing suppliers
  • Maintain pricing to minimise discrepancies and pricing debit notes
  • Maintain and manage rebate trackers, working with OEM's to help achieve targets
  • Work with suppliers to ensure a regular flow of model data and parts information is received
  • Identify and help source new product ranges & suppliers, maintaining quality and market position
  • Maximise inter-departmental communication of workflow to ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain marketing budgets with key OEM'S and be a stakeholder in marketing activity
  • General administration duties, including the maintenance of supplier contact details
  • Ensure meeting notes are up to date and outstanding actions are planned and executed

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Knowledge of Purchase & Supply Chain
  • Experience in a similar category assistant, purchasing assistant or buying assistant role
  • Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets
  • Ability to work on projects independently and as part of a team
  • Computer literate
  • Attention to detail

  • Highly motivated / Proactive
