The Opportunity:
Nigel Wright Group has been appointed to lead the search for a mechanical engineering client based in the South East, to secure a new Export Distribution Sales Manager. The Company is headquartered in Japan, with a European headquarters in the UK and is experiencing strong growth across its markets. It sells technical engineering solutions into a variety of sectors, including aerospace parts manufacturers, rail, automotive component manufacturers, electronic parts manufacturers and battery manufacturers amongst others.
Role Profile:
- Implementing the commercial strategy for the UK & Europe.
- Establishing new and maintaining key existing distributor relationships in the UK and Europe.
- Negotiating and agreeing tender and contract terms.
- Managing and developing the direct customer base.
- Drawing up specifications in conjunction with customers and / or distributors.
- Preparing technical and commercial proposals, including carrying out calculations.
- Regular customer visits across the European territory.
- Representing the Company at trade shows and other industry functions.
- Providing training and support materials for distributors and their sales teams.
- Delivering presentations and product demonstrations.
- Engaging with internal technical experts as appropriate.
- Providing after-sales support and technical assistance to customers as appropriate.
Person Specification:
- B2B engineering sector export sales experience.
- A mechanical engineering academic background would be preferable.
- A track record of working successfully in a distribution route to market.
- Commutable to Cambridgeshire 2-3 days per week.
- Comfortable with regular European travel.
