Are you a Manual Software Tester who has experience with SQL? We are seeking a Systems Tester responsible for ensuring our clients operational support systems meet the business's operational needs. The role involves working with business units, clients, software partners, and vendors to provide reliable and efficient servicing systems. The Systems Tester will plan and execute system testing for both internal and external clients, ensuring thorough coverage and quality. Due to working within a regulated environment, there is a lot of admin involved in this role.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Review requirements and design/technical specifications to ensure full test coverage.
  • Plan, execute, and document testing of assigned projects using the Waterfall method, including data interrogation using SQL.
  • Log and manage defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and support User Acceptance Testing.
  • Perform Regression and System Integration Testing.
  • Conduct Peer Reviews of test artefacts and work closely with developers.
  • Drive continuous improvement of system test processes and conduct "Show and Tell" meetings with stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings to provide status updates and support the System Test Team, Test Lead, and QA & Test Manager.
  • Demonstrate functionality and provide training to the System Test Team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Foundation Certificate in Software Testing (ISEB/ISTQB) minimum.
  • 1+ year of software testing experience.
  • Strong experience of SQL.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar tools.
  • High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an excellent standard of written and verbal communication.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle and methodology, including Waterfall.
  • Experience using a Risk-Based Testing approach and producing Test Plans and Test Completion Reports.
  • Proficiency in creating test cases and using SQL for data interrogation.
  • Confident in Defect Triage and Defect Management and producing Test Estimates.
  • Ability to understand issues in relation to business needs and work effectively both individually and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Providing Test Metrics and experience with JSON and XML.
  • Understanding of Git, Jenkins, and experience with Postman/Swagger/SQL Developer.
  • Experience with various testing methods.

1st stage interview will be held w/c 26th August with final stage onsite interviews happening w/c 3rd September.
