Abingdon School is a leading independent day and boarding school with around 1000 pupils aged 11-18. The School is situated in 35 acres of beautiful grounds in the centre of Abingdon, just south of Oxford.

Drama and Events Supervisor – The Role:

Abingdon School is seeking to appoint a full-time Drama and Events Supervisor to support the work of a vibrant Drama department and Amey Theatre in a busy and thriving school environment.

The Drama and Events Supervisor will aid the Drama Department by providing a range of classroom, administrative, theatre and production support. Alongside this, they will support the Amey Theatre with the marketing and professional running of both internal and external events taking place in the school's theatrical spaces. The successful candidate will have a passion for drama, alongside practical experience and preferably a qualification in drama and theatre.

Drama and Events Supervisor – Key Responsibilities:

  • Support drama teaching in lessons, and both curricular and extra-curricular school productions
  • Provide general administrative support for the department including calendar, budget, supplies, communications and social media management
  • In charge of sourcing and designing costumes for productions, including travel where necessary
  • Duty management and basic technical support for events such as assemblies, lectures and commercial events

Drama and Events Supervisor – You:

  • Knowledge and practical experience of drama, theatre and production processes
  • Drama / theatre degree or similar vocational, professional qualification desirable
  • Awareness of industry practice and prop/costume making skills are a bonus
  • Ability to work under pressure, and to cope well with the demands of drama productions
  • Displays commitment to our EDI and safeguarding principles
  • Values and respects the views and needs of children and young people
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organised, punctual and reliable
  • Good level of computer literacy
