My client is seeking a Site Financial Controller to join their team in Hitchin. This role is crucial for maintaining financial integrity and compliance, including monthly financial reporting, adherence to internal controls, and meeting strict deadlines. As a key member of the Site Management Team, the Site Controller will report to the Group Financial Controller and serve as a trusted business partner.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Maintain and oversee the accounting records for the site.
  • Administer and process sales rebates.
  • Coordinate and drive SOX reviews and activities, ensuring compliance and timely execution.
  • Coach and develop team members.
  • Manage Internal and External Audit processes, including coordination of site audits and remediation of issues.
  • Lead the annual stock take audit and monitor cycle count performance.
  • Complete annual statutory accounts and liaise with Accountants and Auditors.
  • Manage the site Fixed Asset register and ensure adherence to corporate policies.
  • Produce annual department budgets and forecasts, and support cost control initiatives.
  • Write commentaries on financial performance, including variances to plan and prior year.
  • Manage employee expenses and company credit cards using the Concur system.
  • Manage group leases on the CoStar system and ensure reconciliation to financial systems.
  • Support group treasury activities and review and approve payments.
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose resolutions.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to site functions.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller and handle ad hoc requests.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACCA / CIMA newly qualified.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial controls.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Experience with an integrated ERP system, QAD preferred.
  • Knowledge of SOX/US GAAP/UK GAAP is advantageous
  • Ability to work to tight reporting deadlines with strong attention to detail.
