The Role
As a Catering Assistant, you'll play a key role in the preparation, cooking, presentation, and service of healthy food and beverages for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals to high standards of quality and hygiene
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and quality assurance procedures
- Assist with catering for special functions outside of regular hours as needed
- Monitor food temperatures and quality before serving
- Report equipment faults and maintenance needs promptly
- Follow school security protocols, including securing entrances and exits as needed
- Comply with child protection and confidentiality policies, reporting any concerns

The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a motivated team player with a passion for excellent service and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience in catering, a restaurant, or a school setting
- Friendly and polite demeanour with a focus on customer service
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Keen attention to cleanliness and detail
- Catering NVQ qualification (desirable)
- First aid training (or willingness to complete it)
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures for kitchen equipment
