Mechanical Design Engineer - High-Tech Manufacturing, SolidWorks
Permanent - Highly competitive basic salary (£35,000 to £40,000) per annum plus 7.5% pension, 25 days holiday, and more.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design and Production Engineer to join a cutting-edge technology company specialising in the development of bespoke, high precision engineering solutions for scientific, industrial, environmental, and space applications. Based in Northampton, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-value, complex systems that are tailored to specific client needs.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and production processes, contributing to the development of vacuum-compatible and in-vacuum systems. You will be responsible for creating detailed designs using 3D CAD software, generating manufacturing drawings, and ensuring the seamless integration and testing of these systems.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation for mechanical design.
- Practical experience in mechanical assembly and testing.
- Strong ability to produce accurate written records and follow detailed procedures.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with vacuum systems and cleanroom environments.
- Knowledge of FEA and/or thermal analysis.
- Experience within the space industry and familiarity with ECSS standards.
