Science teacher - Bury - September

A dedicated and passionate Science Teacher is required to work at a popular Good secondary school in Bury, to join them on a full-time basis from September, on an ongoing basis,for the full academic year on a full-time basis, to cover a permanent member of staff who is on maternity leave.

This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced teachers.

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. This school teaches AQA at GCSE and has a key focus on Big Questions, which helps students to understand their key learning.

This is a school that the students feel safe and treat each other in a kind way inside an outside of class. The leaders of the school have high expectations of the students which keeps standards of behaviour high, always. The culture of the school is a key focus for all staff with clubs that enforce this. There are clubs such as: culture club which allows students to share their different upbringings and LGBT+ which gives students a safe place.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in science connected subject.

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B. Ed, QTS, etc) in science

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
