Financial Controller

Our small yet well-established client, who have ambitious future growth plans, are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join their fun and family feel team. This is a permanent opportunity based from their offices in Staunton, Gloucester.

You will be responsible for financial reporting, budget management, cost control, and administering and controlling our accounting functions. You will play a critical role in strategic decision-making and will work closely with the team to drive the financial performance of the company.

Most of all, you must be a team player.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and forecasts to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Develop effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Purchase & sales ledger entries, bank & balance sheet reconciliations, incoming and outgoing payments, goods inwards receipts, VAT, PAYE and manage foreign exchange policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.

Candidate Attributes:

  • ACCA / CIMA certification or qualified by experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to get stuck in and work closely alongside other members of the team
  • Bubbly personality with ability to speak to people at all levels

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm

Salary: Circa £40k per annum depending on experience (if you feel you have the right attributes, please outline your salary expectations when applying)
