I am currently supporting a client, based on the Fylde Coast in their search for a Head of Learning and Development. This is a brand new role in a successful business. Reporting into the People Director you will be accountable for the development, planning and delivery of a variety of learning initiatives, with the purpose of ensuring employees are suitably qualified, competent and skilled to undertake their roles.
Leading a small, high-performing team you will take a lead on the following:
- Supporting engagement and retention through ensuring there are career pathways in place across the business
- Working to identify high-performing talent and working with these individuals to further develop
- Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders, working to continually evaluate learning needs
- Working with the People Director on the implementation of a learning strategy
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement across all learning initiatives
- Ensuring learning initiatives are fit for purpose
- Building robust methods for reporting and evaluating on learning interventions
- Overseeing leadership development activity
- Designing and implementing an effective induction and on-boarding programme for new starters
- Identifying opportunities to use the apprenticeship levy
- Collaborating with third party training providers
- Leading an internal communications programme with the aim of ensuring widespread awareness of L and D activity
