We're excited to recruit for this role at Golding and appoint an Assistant Director of Finance where you'll be able to play a key role in shaping our future.?

What you'll be doing?

This important role will lead the activities of our Finance team, covering reporting, budgeting and forecasting, rents and service charges, taxation, and core financial operations.

Your job will be to ensure the team supports all business activities, enabling colleagues to deliver excellent services, and that we deliver our Fit for the Future change programme.

You'll join a core financial leadership group alongside the Executive Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Treasury and Planning, and Head of Procurement.

You'll also join our Senior Leadership Group, working closely with colleagues on delivering corporate objectives and sharing responsibility for performance.

We've just implemented a new core finance system, and you'll lead the work to fully embed its enhanced capabilities.

You'll continuously improve the finance service to colleagues and stakeholders, delivering outcomes on time, every time, evolving to suit the needs of each audience to ensure that core financial functions deliver the basics brilliantly.

As we deal with the challenges of the operating environment, including the tail-end of the inflation spike, you'll make sure that financial stewardship is effective across the business.

You'll lead on achieving ever-improving value for money, engaging with colleagues and customer groups to identify and secure improvements. You'll support non-financial colleagues by providing training and guidance in budget-setting and financial management. You'll also prepare and present reports to our Board and Committees on financial performance, forecasting and risk management.

We have good foundations to build on, and you'll have the support of the Executive Team to drive change and improvement across your area of responsibility. We're looking to you to build a team providing services which belong among the best in the sector.

More about you. What can you bring??

We're looking for an experienced leader to take up the important role as Assistant Director of Finance. This role will work closely with our Executive Director of Finance and the directorate leadership team. Together this group provides strong financial, treasury, and procurement leadership to the business.

You will hold a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CIPFA) with at least five years post qualification experience.

You're likely to have worked in the housing sector for several years and have managed successful finance teams in group structures.

You'll have advanced technical knowledge of housing sector finance - knowledge of the SoRP, Regulatory environment, funding models, investment appraisal, forecasting and budgeting.

Your keen eye for detail and excellent financial knowledge means you're ready to work at Assistant Director level as part of our Senior Leadership Group (SLG).

You'll use your influence across the business to drive value across our activities and build strong and productive relationships with your peers at Golding and across the sector. You'll have been at the forefront of departmental and organisational change programmes and be able to evidence the benefits that work has achieved.

When and where you'll be doing it?

You will enjoy a 37 hour working week and earn an annual salary of circa £110,000.?

This role will be based in our head office in central Maidstone which is a new, modern and bright space which inspires creativity and innovation;?a?central workspace to collaborate and come together with the rest of our fantastic customer service team.
