DEI Strategic Lead: Evaluation - London Fire Brigade

We are looking for a DEI Strategic Lead: Evaluation to join the People Services Department within the People Directorate. This role is pivotal in leading the design and delivery of organisation-wide DEI evaluation interventions and overseeing the programme management of the Evaluation strand of our DEI Strategy (2024-2027). The successful candidate will be instrumental in building staff capability and supporting cultural change across the organisation.

Day to Day of the role

  • Lead the development and maintenance of a DEI maturity model/framework.
  • Design customised training programmes, tools, and materials to address specific DEI needs and embed learning in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with staff to create engaging DEI content and develop relevant evaluation strategies and policies.
  • Manage procurement and relationships with suppliers in the field of DEI evaluation.
  • Coordinate and deliver workshops, webinars, and interactive sessions.
  • Research best practices to address DEI issues and inform the development of initiatives.
  • Build networks and strong working relationships across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic guidance on equality legislation and the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED).
  • Oversee the programme management of the DEI strategy's Education strand, including the EIA process.
  • Develop mechanisms to monitor and measure the successful delivery of DEI activity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and utilising evaluation interventions to improve workforce and organisational performance.
  • Proficiency in developing measurement tools and drafting and implementing policy.
  • Ability to research and develop educational content and analyse data effectively.
  • Strong written communication skills for producing material for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Independent working skills to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Line management experience and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and understanding of IT applications in a training and development environment.
  • Budget management skills and project management experience, including stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, PSED, and current legislation relevant to DEI.
