A school in the North Somerset area is looking for a Year 1 teacher from September to work on a Part-Time basis covering Maternity Leave.

The school has a very close team, and with multiple year 1 classes. In the BS48 area, the school has a dedicated team of staff including a team of teaching assistants to help you fulfill the needs in the classroom.

The role:

If you are successful, you will be working 3 days a week in a Year 1 class, communicating clearly with your partner teacher to assess and adapt lessons to meet their needs and understanding.

You must hold the similar values as the school; aiming to provide children with knowledge and understanding of the world, through a broad curriculum and learning opportunities. You will also be encouraged to facilitate an inclusive learning environment.

You will be expected to:

  • Have great knowledge of Phonics.
  • Ability to assess children's knowledge and development.
  • Plan engaging and exciting activities to attract children to their learning.
  • Be confident with differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all children.
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the children.
