RotheramCarrington are delighted to be supporting a leading shipping and freight forwarding business, in their recruitment of of an Ships Agent, based at their site in Ellesmere Port. Your exciting new role:
- As part of the shipping department team, you would book port services, Pilots, towage and any other service providers required by the master or vessel.
- Liaise with the Master, Officers, crew and shore staff, obtaining the latest information in relation to the loading or discharging operations
- Present documentation to the Master for the signing and obtaining any ships documentation that is required for the call.
- Assist in any requirements such as crew changes, doctors, dentist appointments, hotel bookings or taxi bookings etc
- Support Agency operators with voyage related documentation, such as scanning/ emailing documents and any general administration needed to clients
What you will need:
- Have experience as a Ships Agent in a Port setting or with a Ships Agency
- Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse range of stakeholders
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Flexible working - with occasional weekend and evening work
