Charity Sector, to £52k

Hybrid, two days a week near Bristol, three remotely. Maternity leave for 12-14 months

The role can be offered on a full OR part-time basis (4 or 5 days)

This role is all about leading the Marketing and Communications function for this amazing charity, which will include developing and implementing the brand and marketing strategy and delivering an in-house marketing resource to support all aspects of the important work in which this charity is involved.

You'll also be managing the long-term agency relationship for PR services during the period.

Some notes about what you'll be doing day to day:

Brand and Corporate Communications, ownership of the brand, driving adoption of brand and tone of voice guidelines amongst staff. Leading brand advertising campaigns to maximise brand awareness, understanding and engagement Supporting the team in upholding the visual brand identity in all deliverables

Developing and implementing a marketing and communications strategy that supports engagement with the organisation, and maximises reach and awareness, including clear team targets and KPIs

Using insight to drive decision making and develop a culture of learning based on evaluation and analysis of our work

Providing strong leadership, setting high standards and delivering effective line management, support and development

Ensuring the team understand and are appropriately trained to undertake their roles including compliance with regulation, information governance and all relevant hospice policies and procedures

Ensuring the marketing strategy includes a specific section on digital communications, outlining our direction and growth in this area

Being responsible for the organisational social media policy, ensuring staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities and that the Marketing and Communications team have clear guidelines on how to manage corporate messages and tone of voice on digital platforms

This bit is super important

  • You'll be working with the Internal Communications Officer to develop the internal comms plan
  • Ensuing that feedback options are in place for staff to engage and that feedback is acted upon
  • Identifying ways to continually improve internal comms, ensuring staff in all departments and across all locations feel engaged and informed
  • PR & Media another important part of the job
  • Working with the external agency to develop the pro-active calendar of PR activity, reflecting the key events and activities in the Comms Calendar as well as identifying opportunities for ad-hoc PR
  • Working with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and the PR agency to advise the wider organisation of risks and opportunities in relation to the media

Desirable only, but good to have

  • Marketing or communications qualification

  • Ability to lead, manage and inspire a team
  • Budget management
  • Sound marketer with in-depth knowledge of communicating with a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to create digital strategies
  • Use of CMS for editing and updating websites
  • Experience of analytics and performance management of activities
  • Excellent copywriting and proof-reading skills
  • Easily able to manage competing demands and priorities
  • Experience in appointing and managing external suppliers
  • Adept in Microsoft Office
