Our local authority client is looking for a Development Manager to join their busy team based in Chelmsford on a permanent basis.
The Essex Renewal Fund (ERF) is a £100m investment fund dedicated to complex land and property projects, supporting 1,500 jobs and delivering 1,000 new homes over the next 20 years.
As a Development Manager, you will:
- Maximize financial and non-financial benefits of ERF projects.
- Commission colleagues to buy land, secure planning consents, and manage consultants.
- Advise on scheme development, conduct financial appraisals, negotiate agreements, and oversee sales and marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Appraisal and Acquisition: Assess land opportunities for acquisition and support business case development.
- Negotiation: Lead on promotion agreements, ensuring progress and value for money.
- Consultant Management: Appoint and manage design and technical consultants, promoting safety and sustainability.
- Planning and Consents: Secure planning consents for projects, working with project managers.
- Market Advice: Advise on market-facing aspects to meet occupier needs.
- Performance Monitoring: Improve lettings and disposals performance, manage risks, and prioritize tasks.
Requirements:
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to meet mobility requirements through other means.
