Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a QC Lab Analyst on behalf of a global colouring and flavourings manufacture with a site based in Burton-on-Trent. This is a permanent position to join their team to provide analytical support in QC laboratory for raw materials and finished product testing.
Duties:
- Fully support and proactively participate in site safety, quality and environmental programmes
- Conduct analyses of raw materials and finished products accurately as required in line with SOP without supervision, after suitable training
- Record results as found, accurately and neatly.
- Record results as found, in ERP system
- Report and action any out of specification results in a timely manner, recommending adjustments
- Log results in the Lab Log
- Assist in 'Wrong First Time' and Non-Conformance investigations
- Conduct calibration checks on laboratory equipment where required, acting as point of contact where required
- Make up test and reagent solutions accurately as per instructions
- Check and sign off production formulations
- Prepare and log samples for external laboratories, and be point of contact
- Take samples from raw materials / finished products as required
- Liaise with Production Supervisors, Production Office and Development / Quality regarding out of spec results where required
- Undertake general housekeeping and administration tasks
- Use of Forklift Truck - training will be provided
- Any other duties compatible with the role
Monday-Friday 08:30-16:30
Requirements for the QC Lab analyst role:
Essential:
- A Level in Chemistry, Food science or related science-based subject.
- Experience of working in an industrial or analytical laboratory. Experience of working with a GCMS
Desirable:
- Experience in Colours lab
- Degree in Chemistry, Food science or related science-based subject
