EPOS Field Service Engineer

About the Role:
My client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for new store installations, field maintenance, and provide exceptional customer service for their products. This role requires someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee new store installations, including drive-thru, self-service kiosks, server and networking infrastructure, following completion of training.
  • Manage field maintenance jobs from initial contact to completion, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Operate within a designated geographical region, with flexibility to cover other regions as required.
  • Maintain punctuality and commitment to completing tasks.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the workplace and onsite.
  • Establish clear communication channels to keep customers informed about the progress of their maintenance or installation.
  • Provide support and training to clients on products as needed.
  • Address issues promptly and escalate when necessary.
  • Ensure quality standards are upheld at all times.
  • Shape a positive impression of the company through regular engagement and accurate updates.
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service while managing multiple client requests.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a field engineer.
  • Experience with QSR / Retail installations and break-fix visits to national clients.
  • Adherence to health & safety and manual handling guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using power tools (SDS drills, grinder).
  • Confidence in working at height, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Experience in the installation and deployment of IT systems and networks, following documented procedures.
  • Knowledge of network installation, Cat 5, Cat 6, termination, and testing (fibre experience is advantageous).
  • Flexibility to work longer hours when required.
  • Full UK driving licence with a clean record.
  • Willingness to cover a wider geographical area.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, servicing multiple clients or stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent organisational abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate time-critical activities alongside daily tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and reprioritise tasks at short notice.
  • Proficiency in using a company laptop for admin tasks, including time sheeting and reporting.
  • Ownership of a CSCS or ESC card.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience with drive-thru's, self-service kiosks, or similar digital solutions.
  • Familiarity with POS/EPOS systems (front & back of house).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Health & Safety awareness refresher training certificate.
