Finance Administration Apprentice

Jackson Boyd is a leading Scottish litigation firm who have an on-going ambition to expand their business. They provide effective claims handling legal service for motor insurers, legal expenses insurers, insurance brokers and individual clients. Currently, there is an an opening within their Finance team for an apprentice.

You will be working for an organisation that is really keen to develop young people, with over 60 apprentices having joined the business historically. They are based in a modern office accommodation in the city centre of Glasgow. They provide regular internal training for their staff, flexible working opportunities and operate a "dress for your day" policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing high volumes of purchase invoices, fee notes and accounts receivable
  • Dealing with fee earner queries quickly and efficiently
  • Payment of client money and supplier invoices
  • Ensuring Law Society Rules and internal controls are adhered to
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Providing administrative support to the finance team
  • Undertaking ad hoc tasks as required

Skills required:

  • An interest in accounts and a desire to develop a career within this area
  • Ability to use initiative and work within a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, maturity and discretion
  • Minimum Nat 5 Grade C in Maths and English.

Salary:

Starting at £12,500 per annum, increasing after 3 months to £14,000 upon completion of probation and then £15,500 once your apprenticeship has been completed.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
