The Company

We are recruiting for a Bid Writer to work with a specialist energy organisation that provides renewable energy solutions to the public and private sector. Part of a £300m turnover group, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive work environment, they encourage their employees to grow and develop their skills. We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Bid Writer to join the team.

The Role

As a Bid Writer you will play a crucial role in their business development process by crafting compelling and persuasive proposals that assist in winning new business. You will work closely with various departments to understand project requirements and produce high-quality, tailored responses to client tenders and RFIs. The role requires you to work from the Manchester office 1 day per week, the rest if work from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify new bidding opportunities aligned with our strategic goals.
  • Analyse RFIs and client requirements to develop tailored, high-quality proposals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales and design teams to gather necessary information and insights.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive content for proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Working on between 5-15 proposals per month depending on complexity across 150+ different frameworks.
  • Edit and proofread proposals for clarity, grammar, and overall quality.
  • Maintain and update a library of standard bid responses, templates, and supporting documentation.
  • Track and analyse bid success rates, providing feedback and recommendations.

Candidate Sought

  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer, or similar role. - with exposure to public sector frameworks and portals.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong understanding of bid processes & the ability to interpret & respond to complex RFIs.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement within energy, utilities or renewables is a plus
