Embark on an exciting journey as a Community Fundraiser with York Against Cancer, a local charity helping local people affected by cancer.

This amazing charity provides care and support for patients and their families in York and North & East Yorkshire, funding pioneering cancer research and providing cancer awareness education and information.

Join them in making a meaningful impact on the community by leading and executing all fundraising activities. As a vital member of the team, you'll play a key role in implementing their fundraising strategy and driving a consistent programme of activities.

Job Title:

Community Fundraiser

Salary:

£27,500 per annum with additional benefits, including a generous pension scheme and free health insurance (after 12 months).

Location:

York Community Stadium, Huntington, York

Hours of Work:

Full time, 32 hours over 4 days, with a flexible day off per week.

Essential:

A full clean driving license and access to a personal vehicle are essential due to the requirement to attend fundraising events.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing and develop new fundraising opportunities.
  • Act as a focal point for external and internal fundraisers, providing support and guidance.
  • Research and develop fundraising opportunities in the charity's wider area.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgment for all fundraisers/donors using charity-specific software.
  • Communicate professionally with all fundraising stakeholders.
  • Be flexible with working hours, as some events may occur outside normal working hours.
  • Act in accordance with the ethos and values of our client, particularly regarding the sensitivities surrounding cancer and language used.
  • Attend and represent our client at business networking events.
  • Become an integral member of the small team.

What we are looking for:

  • We are seeking a motivated and confident individual with proven experience managing fundraising activities and events.
  • You will be an excellent communicator and influencer, demonstrating the drive to develop fundraising activities to increase income.
  • While an established local network is beneficial, it is not essential; however, good knowledge of the area is a must.
  • The ability to manage, prioritise, and meet deadlines is crucial, as is the ability to work cooperatively within a small team.
