About the role

As Equity Researcher at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL), you will be producing market leading research on a defined list of global equities and writing relevant, insightful commentary on equities and markets, to be published across HL's website, the Investment Times and PR commentary.

Reporting to the Head of Equity Research and working closely with the wider Investment Analysis and Research team, you will be helping our existing clients to save and invest with confidence and playing a pivotal role in attracting new clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Producing research on a dedicated list of global equities, including updates on major news flow and events
  • Writing regular, relevant, insightful commentary on equities and markets for publication on the HL website, the Investment Times and for distribution to existing and prospective clients
  • Acting as an HL spokesperson for specified equity sectors and wider market talking points within the media
  • Developing investment ideas for clients, including contribution to flagship marketing campaigns such as, "Five Shares to Watch" and "Shares for your ISA"
  • Working with the financial promotions team and maintaining familiarity with relevant regulatory developments to ensure all content is appropriate and compliant

About you

To succeed as Equity Researcher at HL, you'll be:

  • Informed, with specialist knowledge of markets, investment trends and current affairs
  • Skilled at writing compelling articles, with keen attention to detail and a clear understanding of tone of voice guidelines
  • Able to critically analyse qualitative data to evaluate investment potential
  • Proactive, with ability to multitask, manage time and prioritise effectively
  • Able to stay calm and professional under pressure
  • (desirable) Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or appropriate equity specific qualification (R02, CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning etc.)

Interview process

The interview process will include two stages and a written task.

Salary

The salary for this role will be circa £35,000 depending on experience.

Working schedule

This is a full time, permanent role covering 37.5 hours per week. The role is based in Bristol, BS1 5HL. Hybrid working and flexibility is available and open for discussion.
