As an SEN Teacher for EYFS/Reception, you will:
- Work with young learners in a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
- Develop, adapt, and implement creative learning strategies that address diverse SEN needs.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to support the holistic development of each child.
- Foster a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning atmosphere.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and external stakeholders to monitor progress and modify support where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum.
- Assess individual learning needs and provide additional support and intervention as required.
- Utilize various resources and strategies to aid children's sensory, emotional, and educational development.
- Track, monitor, and record the progress of each child, making adaptations as necessary.
- Engage with external SEN specialists to enhance each child's experience.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an SEN or early years teaching role.
- In-depth knowledge of SEN strategies, particularly within an EYFS/Reception context.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
Desirable:
- SEN-specific qualifications or training.
- Familiarity with Loughborough's SEN and early years resources and networks.
