Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for an Mechanical Shift Engineer to come and work for TATA Steel in Willenhall.

- Role - Mechanical Shift Engineer
- Pay rate - Up to £42,480 per annum (including 18% shift allowance)
- Location - Steelpark Way, Willenhall, Wolverhampton WV11 3SQ, United Kingdom
- Job Type - Permanent
- Hours - Full time, 37.5 hours per week
- Shift Pattern - Rotational 3-shift pattern as below:
- Morning Shift - Monday to Thursday - 06:00hrs to 14:00hrs and Friday - 06:00hrs to 11:50hrs
- Afternoon Shift - Monday to Thursday - 14:00hrs to 22:00hrs, Friday - 11:50hrs to 17:40hrs andSat or Sun - 06:00hrs to 16:00hrs
- Night Shift - Monday to Thursday - 22:00hrs to 06:00hrs and Friday - No Night shift
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair processing machinery and ancillary equipment safely and productively to maximize availability at optimum cost.
- Adhere to preventative maintenance programs to avoid unplanned downtime.
- Manage engineering spares and inventory on-site using the SHIRE (PM) system within budget constraints to minimize equipment downtime.
- Provide expertise in programmable/configurable devices (instrumentation, PLCs, drives, etc.).
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified to ONC or City & Guilds in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in mechanical engineering, continuous improvement processes, preventative maintenance techniques, and managing contractors.
- In-depth knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and first-stage electrical fault finding.
- Experience with first-stage fault finding, PLCs, drives, and AC/DC controllers is desirable.
