Accountant - HAECO Global Engine Support (Heathrow)

HAECO Global Engine Support was set up in 2019 and a member of HAECO Group to provide global round-the-clock on-wing and off-wing engine support from its strategic locations in Hong Kong, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, London in the U.K. and Dallas in the U.S.

We are seeking an Accountant to join our EMEA Accounting team, located in our London office.

The role has responsibility for supporting the accounting and finance operations, ensuring adherence to company processes and policies, as well as compliance with UK GAAP. The position is also responsible for conducting detailed reporting and analysis to meet business requirements and supporting local financial reporting and administration for EMEA (including UK, Amsterdam, Middle East countries)

Key job responsibilities

  • Preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the EMEA operations while implementing and maintaining adequate mechanisms, decision making and escalations with finance partners and management.
  • Provide support to drive standardization and continuous improvement of processes and controls to obtain the highest integrity of financial reporting (US, local GAAP, and management reporting)—including partnering with appropriate stakeholders, for a successful end-to-end approach to reporting.
  • Perform the day-to-day accounting tasks activities of the company's finance operations including Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Payroll, VAT and other Reconciliation activities; this includes ensuring all financial transactions, systems, and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency, considering the diversity of EMEA requirements.
  • Participate in lease accounting process ensuring compliance with US GAAP / IFRS
  • Perform duties in treasury and banking activities including cash reconciliations, funding requests and preparation of quarterly cash flow forecast
  • Provide support to GES Group Financial Reporting as required
  • Provide support in internal and external audit to fulfill audit requirements
  • Perform all tasks in a timely manner ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Ad-hoc projects as required

Annual leave - 25 days per calendar year.

  11. We offer Company sick pay as follows:

6 weeks' basis rate of pay if you have between six months to two years of service,

12 weeks' basic rate of pay if you have between two years to five years of service, or

18 weeks' basic rate of pay if you have over 5 years' service.

Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting/Finance with extensive relevant experience with CPA / ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent certification and knowledge of various GAAP accounting rules including UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Solid understanding of an internal control framework and the concepts of control design and operational efficiency.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant working experience in accounting firm or in commercial sector, preferably in a publicly listed company.
  • Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS with exposure to group consolidation and statutory reporting.
  • Solid experience in financial reporting, management reporting and budgeting
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and can-do attitude towards tasks and challenges.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of the team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with SAP or Tagetik would be an advantage.
