They are now looking to recruit an experienced Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy team.

About The Role:

As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the design and development of mechanical systems for a variety of projects. You will work closely with experienced engineers, develop your design skills, and take on increasing responsibility over time. Your role will involve collaboration, technical support, and continuous learning to stay abreast of industry trends and technologies

Main Responsibilities

Mechanical Design Assistance:

  • Assist with producing mechanical designs for larger projects using necessary software and experience.
  • Mark up drawings and specifications for the CAD team to draft plant and systems.
  • Produce schedules and specifications for new plant and equipment, as well as electrical schedules.

Project Management:

  • Lead the design on smaller projects with the guidance of an experienced engineer, progressing to larger projects over time.
  • Aid project engineers/managers with design changes and modifications to building layouts.

Site Surveys and Customer Interaction:

  • Attend site surveys to gather details on site restrictions and layouts.
  • Visit customer sites as necessary to provide support and gather feedback.

Collaboration and Technical Support:

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and refine design concepts and ideas.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as required.

Research and Development:

  • Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Create and modify mechanical designs and models based on feedback from clients, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Services Engineering or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and methodologies.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with CAD software would be a plus.

Experience:

  • Previous internship or work experience in a mechanical design role is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
