Events Operation Manager

Juice Cheltenham is delighted to be supporting a fantastic organisation in their search for a Events Operations Manager, based in Cheltenham.

Reporting to the Head of Events, the Events & Venue Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of venue management, across two venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily line management of colleagues including rota scheduling, planning of annual leave and application
  • Undertake colleague development activities and remedial coaching as required
  • Ensure that venues are maintained to agreed standards, prioritising safety and security of colleagues and patrons.
  • Maintain all back office areas to agreed standards, conducting weekly and monthly inspections and taking any remedial action required.
  • Ensure all events are set-up and taken down as per the event function sheets, on time and in accordance with the event budget.
  • Proactively liaise with Event Managers and other senior stakeholders to ensure roles and responsibilities for each event are understood.
  • Support the Event Management team by delivering small events, or deputising on larger scale events.
  • Comply with Health, Safety & Security legislation, including associated periodic testing. Maintain accurate records of compliance.
  • Ensure all colleagues comply with Health & Safety policies and procedures, including fire safety, COSHH and manual handling.
  • Risk Assessments and SOP's are accurately maintained and updated as required.
  • Oversee all work completed by external contractors to ensure safety practises are adhered to, and work is completed to the required standard.
  • Management of the Facilities, Operations and Technical staffing budgets, including preparation of periodic and annual forecasts.
  • Complete regular stock takes on cleaning and technical consumables and investigate any discrepancies. Monitor damages and wastage in line with agreed metrics.
  • Management of planned expenditure in line with agreed budgets.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Experience of working in a similar role for 3 years +, ideally within hospitality/events
  • Budget management and financial forecasting
  • Procurement of goods and services, and management of of supplier contracts
  • Experience of managing across multiple sites
  • Confident & professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work at pace, within busy environments
  • Able to work under own initiative

This role will be working 5 days out of 7 as you will be required to attend the events that your managing. This role will also require travel between the two locations (both in Cheltenham) so will need to drive.
