Category Manager

To lead and run the delivery of complex category management projects from point of procurement through to and including undertaking contract management with associated tasks.

To always act in line with legislation in a category management approach to deliver savings and sustainable total cost reductions, whilst aligned to corporate objectives.

To demonstrate your specialist skills in your category area with strong customer focus, commercial acumen, and proactive approach, building in contract, supplier, and relationship management skills throughout your assigned category.

To promote an integrated alignment of corporate objective, future proofing operational decisions through robust research and fact-based market intelligence. To maintain a continuous hands-on, can-do and results focused positive attitude in delivery of category management.

Criteria description

Considerable experience of managing a dispersed workforce; leading by example, taking personal responsibility, keeping direct reports informed, undertaking performance assessments, ensuring proper team conduct, developing / coaching team members, implementing recommendations and supporting effective budget management.

Considerable project / category management experience within a professional procurement, commercial or category management environment working to a senior level
