HSE Manager

SJC Partners have an exciting opportunity for a driven HSE Manager to join a high performing business based in their Preston office on a permanent basis.

As the successful candidate for the position your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver strategic and operational objectives relating to health and safety and environmental aspects of the organisations Integrated Management System
  • Responsible for meeting the requirements of the companies accreditations and be involved in the audits.
  • Manage key Health and Safety activities including Accident Investigations, Risk Assessments, Management of Change, Permit to Work, Control of Contractors and all mandatory monitoring and Safety Inspections etc
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, prepare detailed reports on findings and develop preventative strategies and actions
  • Organise health and safety training for employees to ensure awareness and understanding of safety and environmental practices and legislation
  • The recruitment and management of the sites Health and Safety committee
  • Conduct compliance and internal audits in accordance with both ISO and the organisations policies
  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture, providing training on health and safety topics
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Manage and report on waste and recycling activities, storage and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations
  • Monitor and report KPI performance for QMS, Health & Safety and Environmental performance
  • Stay up to date with legislation and regulatory requirements related to health and safety and environmental matters that impact the business
  • Manage emergency procedures such as fire alarm drills, spillages and tanker unloading
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and external regulatory bodies to maintain compliance standards
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for Health & Safety improvement
  • Promote and implement policies and procedures for sustainability, reducing waste and improving efficiency
  • Manage the policies and procedures for the Company's packaging waste reporting requirements
